'Celebrate' Swap Card

Hello!

Today I have popped in to show you my card swap for March.  The theme this month for The Artfull Stampers monthly swap is 'CELEBRATE'.

Here is my take on the theme :)

This card features a few Big Shot elements - I have used the 'Labels Collection' Framelits to cut out some Whisper White Card Stock, which was then embossed using the 'Cloudy Day' Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The 'Pinwheel' Sizzlet Die was used with the Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper 'Sycamore Street' (which is now retired).
The vine pattern was also from the 'Sycamore Street' Designer Series Paper stack aswell.
Some Mini Silver Brads, Island Indigo Bakers Twine and a simple Happy Birthday from the stamp set 'Wishes Your Way' finished the card off :)
The other 2 colours of card stock used were Pool Party and Crumb Cake :)

If you have any questions, or would like to place an order of any kind, please drop me an email at kirraleighbrooks@gmail.com or shop ONLINE at www.kirraleighbrooks.stampinup.net

Until next time,
Keep Smiling and Happy Crafting!!

August Team Swaps

Ok, so these are a little late, but better late then never right! Over the next 3 days I'll be showing you our team swaps for 'The Lasting INKpressions', my upline's team that I'm stoked to be a part of!

Each month we have a theme to base our swaps around, and the theme for August was 'Weddings'.

Here is my take on a Wedding Card for our swaps :) - (supply list at the end of the post).

This card could also be made into an engagement or even a birthday card! Just a simple change of the sentiment and its anything you want it to be!

And tomorrow I will show you the swaps I received in return.

I just love being a Stampin' Up Demonstrator and surrounding myself with lost wonderful talented crafty women!  Not only that but I also get a great discount on the products that I already love to buy! That sounds like a win-win to me! Plus there are so many other GREAT incentives and benefits of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator! If you would love to hear some more then just comment below with your email address or email me at kirraleighbrooks@gmail.com for more information and how to join this fantastic company!

Making use of Retired Products

I'm a bit of a hoarder, I hate using my pretty papers, so I have so many unopened Retired packs of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper. As we may be shifting house in the near future, I figured I should really start using my papers and stop keeping them for a rainy day.

Here is a card I CASEd from here

The Stampin' Up! Supplies used are - Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (Retired), Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set, Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (Retired), Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine, Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Pearl Basic Jewels, Decorative Label Punch, 1 1/4" Square Punch, Lucky Limeade Classic Stampin' Pad and Card Stock (Whisper White and Lucky Limeade).

All of these items (except the retired paper and stamp set) can be purchased through me from Stampin' Up! Contact me today if you would like to place an order at kirraleighbrooks@gmail.com.

Circus Party Invites

I'm sorry for those who came back last week to see my Circus Party Invites. I have been flat out with the girls, house hunting and keeping house while trying to make calls and organise quotes etc to buy a house. Fingers crossed all works in our favour though! Kirra's Korner might have a new home before Christmas!

Ok so without further ado, here are the much awaited INVITES!!

Incase you were wondering, yes, every one of those circus tents has been fussy cut and the white bits in the canopy were cut out using a pen knife.... Lesson learnt, sooooo much work!

Nothing on these come from Stampin' Up! because I am trying to use up all my non-Stampin' Up! product so I only have the good Stampin' Up! Products in my craft room!

Hope you liked these, let me know your thoughts :)

Until next time,
Keep Smiling

Birthday Preparation For My Soon To Be 1 Year Old!

Hello!

Well the count down is on and party preparations are in full swing for Miss I's 1st birthday! I can't believe its been nearly a year since she entered the world on Rememberance Day last year!

As soon as I saw the 2011-2012 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue last year I fell in love with the 'Under The Big Top' suite. So after deciding at that very point in time that no matter what gender Miss I was going to be, the 1st birthday party would be CIRCUS Themed!!!!
So here are some of my preparations so far.... I havn't done much and will post what I have done as it comes together put at the moment here are the sneak peeks of her party prep!

Ok so the first 3 photos of the 1 3/4" Circles with the 'Under The Big Top' characters on them are for cupcake toppers and party bag favours, I still need to colour them all in! That's going to take me some time haha, I am the worst colouring-inner haha.
The last 2 photos are embossed circus tents. This embossing folder (not a Stampin' Up! one) I happened to stumble across at our local craft market last month and for $7.00 I couldn't leave it there when it matched so perfectly with Miss I's party theme, so I got home and rethought her Invitations. These are the embossed tents on Red Cardstock. Tomorrow I will post a picture of the invites completed, the camera battery is on the charger at the moment.

Well Ill catch you back here tomorrow!
Until then!
Keep Smiling

Team Swaps

Team Swap time and this month's theme was 'Male Cards'.  Unlike most people I find male cards quite easy to make, sometimes alot easier than female cards. Shocking I know! But when this challenge for team swaps came up I was loaded with Ideas of all the fantastic Male Cards I could make....... Then I hit a wall when I realised that all the stamp sets I love to use for my male cards are either retired Stampin' Up Stamp Sets or NOT Stampin' Up Stamp Sets. Both these are NO-NOs for teams swaps... All swaps need to be made using current Stampin' Up Stamp Sets and Card stock and Accessories. Back to the drawing board I went.  After looking through my Idea Book & Catalogue about 50 trillion times I finally decided Id CASE and alter one of the cards shown in the Catalogue. This is what I came up with

My 8 swaps all together... only needed to make 6 to swap but I couldn't decide which base colour I liked better so I made myself 2 to keep for my folder.

Surf's Up on 'Not Quite Navy' Card Stock

Surf's Up on 'Night of Navy' Cardstock

So what do you think?? Does it resemble the card on Page 61 at all?? Do you prefer it on the 'Not Quite Navy' or the 'Night of Navy' better??
