Quilled Card

Hi Everyone!

If you missed my last post, I was telling you all how I went on a 3 night Comedy Cruise with my sisters over the weekend and that I managed to be in the middle of the Ocean and still find somewhere to do some Card Making!

Here is the card we made in our Arts and Crafts Session on Quilling.  I had previously done a little Quilling back in High School as one of my last week of school activities back in year 8 (man, that was like, 11 years ago! Feeling a tad old right now!), but hadn't done any since then.  Ive been wanting to get back into it as I found it fun then and I've seen some super cute Quilled Cards I'd love to CASE.

This card, however, is completely different to the Quilling I'd learnt 11 years ago, and when Id seen samples using this particular technique I was busting to know how they done it! Well now I know the secret and it was completely different to how I would have thought it was done! So glad I went to the class and learnt how to do these delectable little flowers!

Until next time,
Keep Smiling and Happy Creating!

Returning to Reality after a Cruising Adventure

Good afternoon!

This week I had to return to Reality after 4 days and 3 nights Cruising aboard P&O's Pacific Dawn!

The Cruise was a 3 night Comedy Cruise, which 3 of my Sisters and I really enjoyed! There was plenty of laughter, smiles, sun, seasickness, drinks, food, dancing and photos! The Comedians were hilarious and I even managed to find a couple of Arts and Crafts Activities aboard, one being Quilling where I made a cute little card. I thought it was quite funny, even in the middle of the ocean I managed to get Card Making done! HAHAHA!!!  It was the ultimate getaway for a mum! No washing, cooking, cleaning, dishes, making beds, changing bums, NOTHING! Just 100% pure relaxation!

Here are a couple of the pictures from the Cruise!

 The Ship was MASSIVE!

Passing under Brisbane Gateway Bridge - It seriously looked like it was NOT going to make it! I was expecting it to fully hit! haha!

What's a Cruise away from the Kids without Cocktails?? Mine was the yummy Chocolate one!

Some of the entertainment at the Sail-away Party as we were leaving the Brisbane Harbour

Us four sisters waiting for one of the Comedy Shows to start and having a few Cocktails while we waited :)

And a gorgeous Sunset on our final night aboard the Pacific Dawn

Now its back to day to day life, being a mummy, cooking dinner, changing bums and cleaning the house, and most importantly CARD MAKING! hehehe. I did miss my daughters and partner ALOT! There were a few tears on my behalf when I realised even with international roaming, I couldn't call home to talk to them all.

Stay tuned, Ill post the Quilled Card and  Beaded Dragonfly I made in Art & Craft Sessions and some cute Towel Animals that our room steward made for us!

Until next time,

Keep Smiling and Happy Creating!

Summer's Calling!

Good Afternoon!

Each month my downline and one of my sidelines run a swap, where we made 3 cards around a theme and swap 2 of them with each other so we have 1 of each card of the theme (if that makes sense).
December's theme was 'Summer'.

Here is my take on a Summery card!

Ice Cream was the 1st thing I thought of when I said the word Summer!  What do you think? What do you associate with Summer?

Materials Used are all Stampin' Up!

Card Stock & Paper:
Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper
Rich Razzleberry
Island Indigo
Whisper White
Naturals White (Ice Cream Cone)
Early Espresso (Choc Scoop)
Very Vanilla (Vanilla Scoop)
Regal Rose (Strawberry Scoop)

Tools:
Pennant Punch
1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch
Simply Scored Scoring Tool

Until next time

More SAB Cards

Good morning everyone!

As you saw yesterday, if you 'hopped' around the Artful Stampers Blog Hop, was lots of wonderful Cards and Papercrafting using the new Sale A Bration products! (if you didnt have a go yesterday, what are you waiting for?? Hop around and check them all out! The samples are amazing!)

Today I have 2 more cards that are a slight variation on the last card I showed yesterday (the Summer Starfruit and Naturals White Card with the Ferris Wheel on it).

Both cards use the Naturals White Cardstock as the base and have been accented with a different colour.  The Ferris Wheel Card has used Raspberry Ripple and the Penny Farthing Card has used Midnight Muse.
I have used my Colour Spritzer with my Stampin' Write Markers to get the speckled look in the background using the same colour and the ink and ribbon.

Both cards feature the new Sale A Bration Stamp Set "Feeling Sentimental" which is yours FREE if you place an order of $100 or more during Sale A Bration (22nd January - 22nd March).

If you'd like to order any of the products I have used just give me a call or email me.

Until next time
Keep Smiling
Kirra :)
